Mijia by Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 6

Listing review by BestDeal360 Editors · Based on manufacturer specifications and marketplace data, not a hands-on test

4.2
On Xiaomi India’s published specs, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is a coherent large-room listing at ₹17,999: 443 m³/h particle CADR, PM1 sensing and a five-stage stack that includes a high-efficiency layer and carbon. This is not a hands-on test. The 940 sq. ft. figure is a two-air-changes-per-hour calculation; the standards-based effective area is 312–538 sq. ft. Skip it if you needed a measured Indian winter trial or a 12-minute clean of a 400 sq. ft. room — Xiaomi does not claim that.

The full review

Bottom line: This Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 6 review is a listing-and-specification read, not a hands-on lab test. The Mijia by Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 6 is listed at ₹17,999 on Amazon.in (ASIN B0HCYVZYGK) and on Xiaomi India’s product page as a large-room purifier with a 443 m³/h particle CADR, a 5-stage filter, and PM1 sensing. If you searched mijia air purifier 6 india before winter smog season, the short answer is: the published specs suit a big living room on paper, but the “900 sq. ft. in minutes” story in some shopping copy does not match Xiaomi’s own footnotes. Read those footnotes before you treat it as the best air purifier for 900 sq ft.

What this Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 6 review did and did not test

We did not run the purifier in a Delhi or Mumbai room, and we did not measure CADR, noise or filter life ourselves. For this Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 6 review we read Xiaomi India’s product page and footnotes, the Amazon.in listing for ASIN B0HCYVZYGK, and the product photography supplied with this page. Where a number comes from Xiaomi or a named lab report on Xiaomi’s page, we say so. Where a shopping draft overstates a number, we correct it.

A 940 sq. ft. rating at two air changes per hour is not the same thing as cleaning a 400 sq. ft. room in twelve minutes.

Mijia Air Purifier 6 India — deep dive

Verdict: who should consider it

Consider the Mijia air purifier 6 India listing if you want one tower for an open living-dining space and you are comfortable buying on published CADR rather than a local particle-count diary. Skip it if you need a measured winter test in your own floor plan, a true medical device, or a purifier whose room-size maths you do not want to decode. Our editorial score on the card above is a listing score, not an owner-rating average.

Price and where to buy

The publishing brief and the Amazon.in headline we checked both put the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 6 at ₹17,999. A card offer near ₹16,749 was also visible on that listing; treat it as a promotion, not a new MRP. Confirm seller, pack contents and delivery on the Amazon listing or via Check current price. Xiaomi’s own India page is the spec reference: Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6.

Design and what the photos show

White Mijia by Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 6 tower beside a phone running the air-quality app
Fig. 02 — Product shot: white tower, circular display and phone app. Studio image, not a room test.

The studio shot shows a tall white tower with a dense perforated intake on the lower half, a circular display near the top, and a phone running an air-quality screen. That matches Xiaomi’s description of an LCD colour display plus Xiaomi Home control. It does not tell you how loud level 3 is in a tiled Indian living room, or whether the tower blocks a doorway. Plan floor space for a tower, not a slim side-table unit.

CADR and the 900 sq. ft. question

People hunting the best air purifier for 900 sq ft should read Xiaomi’s two different area numbers, not a single marketing line. The India page says the purifier covers up to 940 sq. ft., “equivalent to the average carpet area of a modern 2BHK”, calculated at 2 air changes per hour with a 2.4 m ceiling: room size = particle CADR ÷ 2.4 m ÷ 2. The same page lists an effective coverage area of 312–538 sq. ft. using GB/T 18801-2002 (CADR × 0.07 to 0.12). Both can be true. They answer different questions.

A shopping draft that travelled with this review said the unit “cleans a 400 sq. ft. room in just 12 minutes.” Xiaomi’s India page does not say that. The 3.5-minute line is footnoted to a 108 sq. ft. room with a 2.4 m ceiling. Twelve minutes for 400 sq. ft. would be a much harder job, and we did not measure it. If your brief is a 500-plus sq. ft. open plan in winter, treat 940 sq. ft. as a 2-ACH rating, keep doors closed, and do not expect one tower to erase a balcony door that stays open.

Xiaomi 5-stage filter, in plain language

The Xiaomi 5-stage filter is Xiaomi’s “PentaClean” stack, not five identical HEPA slabs. On the India page the stages are: a primary filter for pet hair, pollen and dust; a high-efficiency filter claimed to remove 99.98% of 0.3 μm particles (Cheari report WCv-21-40119, cited by Xiaomi); activated carbon for formaldehyde, TVOCs and odours; UVC aimed at the filter; and a negative-ion generator. Ions and UVC are counted as stages. If you wanted only a sealed HEPA-plus-carbon cylinder, read that definition before you compare filter prices.

Xiaomi also publishes allergen-removal rates from named labs: 98.2% pollen, 99.31% pet dander, 98.11% dust mite and 99.99% PM10 at one hour, plus virus and bacteria figures including 99.99% H1N1. Those are manufacturer-cited lab results under stated methods, not results we reproduced, and not a promise for a leaky Indian apartment. The lifestyle graphic below repeats the allergen set. Use it as a claim sheet, not as our scoreboard.

Fig. 03 — Manufacturer lifestyle graphic. The percentages are Xiaomi-cited one-hour lab claims, not a BestDeal360 room test.

PM1 monitoring and everyday use

Most mid-range purifiers show PM2.5. Xiaomi lists a PM1 sensor plus dust, PM2.5, temperature and humidity. PM1 means particles smaller than 1 micron. Xiaomi’s own copy says particles that small can reach deep lung tissue and the bloodstream. That is a manufacturer health statement, not a diagnosis, and the display is not a medical instrument. What you can fairly expect from the listing is a real-time AQI-style readout and auto mode that raises fan speed when the sensors read worse air.

Filter life is the everyday pain point the listing tries to solve. Xiaomi describes on-device and app prompts when replacement is recommended, with about a year of life depending on hours and outdoor pollution. The marketplace brief also describes a 1-year replacement warranty. We could not confirm warranty wording on the India spec page, so check the Amazon invoice and the box leaflet before you rely on it. Sleep mode is listed at 32.1 dB(A). Level 3 will be louder; we did not meter it.

Xiaomi Air Purifier 6 vs 4

A Xiaomi Air Purifier 6 vs 4 decision should be made on the live spec sheets, not on a generation number. We are not republishing an Air Purifier 4 CADR here because this page did not re-verify that older listing. What Xiaomi does publish for the 6, and what older 4-series buyers should compare line by line, is: 443 m³/h particle CADR, a 218 m³/h formaldehyde CADR, PM1 sensing, UVC plus ions inside the five-stage definition, and the 940 sq. ft. / 2-ACH room rating. If a Purifier 4 listing you already trust covers your actual bedroom and the filter is easy to buy, the 6 is an upgrade in rated airflow, not an automatic replacement.

Against Dyson or Philips towers, the brief’s price point is the argument: ₹17,999 versus machines that often list well above ₹30,000 when the room rating is in the same large-home class. That is a street-price observation, not a particle-count shootout. Match CADR, filter replacement cost and noise, then decide. A cheaper machine with a honest 300 sq. ft. rating can beat an oversized claim in a closed bedroom.

Pros and cons from the listing

Pros grounded in published specs: 443 m³/h particle CADR is a serious listed airflow for this price; PM1 plus PM2.5 sensing is more than a single cheap dust LED; the 5-stage definition includes carbon and a high-efficiency layer, not carbon alone; Xiaomi Home, schedules and optional voice control are documented; filter-life prompts are called out so you are not guessing from smell; the India page cites named lab reports for the headline removal rates.

Cons and limits: we did not test it; the 940 sq. ft. figure is a 2-ACH calculation, while the standards-based effective area is 312–538 sq. ft.; the 3.5-minute claim is for 108 sq. ft., not a large master bedroom; UVC and ions inflate the “5-stage” count versus a classic three-layer cylinder; negative ions are a freshness feature, not a substitute for the filter; replacement-filter price and the 1-year warranty still need a live-listing check; one tower will not fix a room with open windows in peak winter smog.

Who should buy it — and who should not

Buy the Mijia by Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 6 if your floor plan is a large closed living room, you want app schedules, and you accept manufacturer CADR as the buying evidence. It is a rational shortlist entry for mijia air purifier 6 india searches at ₹17,999 when the seller is authorised and the return window is real.

Do not buy it if you need a purifier we have particle-counted in an Indian winter room, if your space is a small bedroom that a cheaper CADR already covers, if you are allergic to marketing that mixes 108 sq. ft. timers with 940 sq. ft. headlines, or if a listing cannot show the brand, the filter and a return policy. It is also not a medical device for asthma or infection control.

Is the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 6 worth it?

On published specs, yes for a large closed room, with the room-size footnote attached. ₹17,999 for a 443 m³/h particle CADR, PM1 sensing and a carbon-inclusive filter is a coherent mid-premium offer. It is not “commercial-grade”, and it is not proven here against Indian winter infiltration. Worth it means the listing matches the room you can actually seal. If you only needed the draft’s 12-minute / 400 sq. ft. promise, that promise is not on Xiaomi’s page — do not pay for it.
